Openings at collaborative centre on advanced biomedical instrumentation

Overview:

The research centre is collaborative effort coordinated by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) to be established at the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) undertaking R&D projects. The aim of the collaborative centre is to develop completely new and disruptive biomedical instrumentation that will meet the growing needs in medicine and contribute sustainably to human health. 

Research openings:

1. Positions of Postdoctoral Researchers/ Research Assistants are available at Professor Anderson H.C. Shum’s research group. The job duties include designing and constructing the relevant devices and platform and performing proof-of-concept tests, drafting reports relevant to the project, liaising with projects' collaborators and partners, and performing other relevant tasks as assigned by the PIs.

 

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. degree (for Postdoctoral Researchers)/ bachelor degree (for Research Assistants) in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related engineering disciplines. Holder of a Master degree is a plus. Preferably with research experience in biomedical, particularly diagnostics-related projects. Fluent in English in both writing and verbal communication is required.

Chief Operating Officer

 Job Responsibilities:

-        Responsible for daily business operations and preparing reports to the Top Management

-        Annual Plan and budget Plan handling and focusing on cost saving

-        Initiating, implementing and improving standard operating procedure, maintaining smooth operations

-        Tackling the daily problems and providing suitable guidance in order to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness

Job Title:

Senior Finance Officer

 Job Responsibilities:

-        Handling full set of daily and general accounting operations; such as AP, AR, Payment & Expenses, Data Entries, Cash Flow, Petty Cash and Monthly Closing and Reporting

-        Assisting Management in preparing the Annual Budget Plan, Semi-yearly and Yearly Financial Reports

-        Review banking and financial documents to analyze terms and business performance

-        Liaising with auditors for annual audit

-        Any other duties or ad hoc projects assigned by management

 Job Requirements:

-        Higher Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline

-        ACCA, HKICPA or equivalent is a plus
